This is a big band version of the famous beginning of Richard Strauss’ symphonic poem. He wrote it in 1896 after being inspired by Friedrich Nietsche philosophical novel about Zarathustra, an Iranian prophet.

It became famous after being used in Stanley Kubrick’s motion picture ‘2001, A Space Odyssey.

Often used with celebrations or important announcements.
