Waterproof (Rob Catlender)
I wrote this funky duet for alto & tenorsaxophone in the mid-eighties and I recently revised it completely. It has a 16th swing-feel.
When I finished composing this piece I still had no title for it.
That same night there was a cloud-burst in my town and my house got flooded from door to door. I wished my roof would have been ‘waterproof...’
The melody is played as a duet of 1st alto and 1st tenor. In the middle there is room for soli, in the audio-sample played by an electric piano. After the first solo we come to a 16 bar latin bridge that brings you to the next soloist. It ends with the theme and drums-fills.
No real audio yet. To get an impression this is the computer-sample version.
