Caravan (Juan Tizol/Duke Ellington)

This is one of the first latinjazz composition ever recorded. The first performance was in 1936. The melody was written by Duke Ellington's trombone-player Juan Tizol and Ellington worked out the rest. It has been played since by hundreds of musicians, is recently performed in the film Whiplash, but I think best known is the version of guitarist Wes Montgomery.

Like in his version, this arrangement features the guitar.  It's mainly a transcription of Wes Montgomery's version. Below is the original Montgomery version. Contact me if you want a sample sounds-version of Caravan.
